Service Policies

Material Procurement Notice

Most service calls require a trip to a local supplier to purchase exact replacement parts. Because parts are uniquely matched to your specific hardware, I do not store bulk inventory in my service truck. Unplanned trips to Home Depot or specialty trade shops generally require 30 to 60 minutes of additional time, and the additional miles on my vehicle will result in a flat $20 service trip charge applied directly to the final invoice.

Important Payment Policy for Parts: To keep your project moving efficiently, all materials must be funded by the client prior to checkout. I do not provide upfront loans, financing, or material reimbursement services under any circumstances. You can fulfill this requirement using one of the following four options:

  • Option 1 (Pre-Ordered Delivery): Have all required replacement parts waiting at the job location upon my arrival.
  • Option 2 (In-Store Sidekick): Join me at the local supplier to gather materials, and you pay the cashier directly at the register.
  • Option 3 (Pay Over Phone): Remain completely available during the procurement window to pay the retail store directly over the phone (note: some local stores do not accept this option).
  • Option 4 (Digital Pre-Payment): Send a digital fund transfer to establish a pre-payment balance before checkout occurs.

Minimum Service Call Policy

All residential and commercial service calls are subject to a strict two-hour labor minimum. This structural minimum applies uniformly to both standard hourly rates and fixed contract agreements, regardless of whether the physical work takes one minute or the full two hours. If your primary repair is completed quickly, I will gladly perform additional small tasks, adjustments, or component checks around your property during the remaining time to ensure you maximize your full dollar value.

Service Preparation Tip

To protect your property and ensure the most efficient service possible, please ensure that immediate project areas (such as cabinets under sinks or structural workspaces) are cleared of items and given a quick wipe-down prior to my arrival. Having a clean, clear site ready dramatically speeds up the project and prevents delays, allowing me to complete the job and get out of your house sooner so you can return to your day. I maintain a clean workspace and am happy to assist with moving heavy or bolted items to gain access, but starting with an unsoiled area allows me to focus entirely on your project and clean up after my own work.

Accommodation Request

I specialize in standard residential and commercial spaces. Please note that my services strictly exclude under-home crawl spaces year-round. Additionally, I do not service uncooled attics during the summer months.

To ensure safety and optimal results, projects requiring prolonged direct sun exposure or work inside unconditioned, stagnant indoor spaces exceeding 90°F require early-morning scheduling or seasonal planning. If an outdoor workspace is fully shaded, I can accommodate slightly warmer temperatures, but I encourage clients to reach out ahead of the summer season so we can map out and coordinate sun-exposed or high-heat projects during cooler months or optimal times of day. For indoor summer projects, please allow access to a power outlet so I can utilize a personal cooling fan.

Client Note: While I generally do not experience allergies, please let me know prior to arrival if the workspace contains excessive pet dander so I can plan accordingly.
